While one cannot put me in a box with my style, life on the prairies is a common theme throughout a vast majority of my work. I love the simplicity of life on the prairies with all its colours, seasons, and lines. I have been drawing prairie girls for years. Many people relate to these drawings for one reason or another.  My prairie girls represent simple, mindful, thoughtful.  My studio is located near Cochrane, Alberta where I live with my husband and raised our three children.

The purpose built art studio is amidst a prairie setting that inspires me daily. It was built in honour of my late mother, Dorothy Walters Starr, who was a gracious woman and beautiful painter. This studio has not only been a creative outlet for myself but a space for me to connect with others and complete numerous styles of custom artwork. It is a place where many students have been inspired to create. It is a place where many have gathered to celebrate the arts. It is a place that captures the hearts of many.

From my travels throughout many parts of the world I have been able to experience many mediums of art. It is my hope that I can share a piece of its meaning with others. Such travels confirm that home on the prairies is where my heart and soul live. In addition my art is sold through SiStar circle… a gathering and bonding of two sisters and a friend (me). We include other artisans and with focus on creativity, connection, and collaboration.
